Our Senior Team

Kieran Ryan F.C.A., A.I.T.I. (Senior Tax Partner)

Kieran set up the practice in 1989 after working for the Revenue Commissioners and a top 10 Irish Chartered Accountancy practice for over 15 years. He has particular experience in property taxation and has been the lead taxation advisor on numerous large development projects. Kieran has considerable commercial experience and is a former taxation spokesperson for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland.

Jonathan Bennett B.Comm, F.C.A. (Audit and Managing Partner)

A graduate of UCD, Jonathan trained with KPMG and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986. He worked for 12 years in the energy sector before joining the practice in 1999, where he is responsible for the team of audit specialists in the Audit & Accountancy Department.

Anthony Weldon B.A., A.C.A. (Corporate Services Partner)

Anthony graduated with an honours degree in Accounting and Finance from DCU in 1996 and trained as a Chartered Accountant, qualifying in 1999. He joined Kieran Ryan & Co. in 2000 and four years later was appointed Partner in charge of the Corporate Services, Recovery and Insolvency department where his primary role is to provide value-added services. Anthony has acted a liquidator to numerous companies in both creditors and High Court liquidations. He has particular expertise in acquisition and disposals and has advised on several business turnaround assignments. Anthony is a member of the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners.

Gary O’Mahony BCL, F.C.A., A.I.T.I. (Tax Partner)

A law graduate from UCC, Gary trained with Arthur Andersen, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 and as a tax professional a year later. Previously a tax director with Ernst & Young, he joined the practice in 2004, as partner to head up the tax department and his experience covers a wide range of tax issues across a varied client portfolio.

Niall Heffernan B.A., F.C.C.A., A.I.T.I. (Tax Partner)

Niall graduated from Dublin City University in 1995 with an honours degree in Accounting & Finance. He is a Chartered Certified Accountant and an Associate of the Institute of Tax in Ireland. Niall trained as an Accountant with a small firm and later qualified as a Tax Professional with KPMG where he was a Taxation Manager. He has been involved with Kieran Ryan & Co. on a consultancy basis since 2002 and was appointed Partner in 2009. He has a wealth of experience in advising clients across all tax heads and covering various industries/sectors.
